American Family Insurance is raising the LGBT pride flag at its national headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, for the second year – Thursday, June 1 at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:        6000 American Family Parkway, Madison, Wisconsin, 53783 (Follow the signs to Main Entrance/Rotunda parking lot).

DETAILS:      American Family will raise the pride flag to show support for the LGBT community as pride month begins. Pride month raises awareness for LGBT rights in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

In 2016, American Family Insurance was the first Dane County business to earn a perfect score of 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
