No Drama   //   Adam & Mick Schneider-Price

August 6  //  Engaged November 28, 2019  //  The Lageret, Stoughton

We both have very large families (25 cousins each, and all married). We also both have worked for the same employers for almost 10 years, so we have developed tremendous relationships with many coworkers. We see these people every day and they just meant so much to us. We had 230 family members, friends, and co-workers attend all together.

We were very fortunate to have an absolutely phenomenal wedding coordinator (Chastity of Copper Feather Events). She was a positive and bright personality who was always there but left a lot of the creativity and planning to us. At the same time, she had all of the logistics taken care of. We felt nothing but love at our wedding. The wedding party was mostly gay/lesbian, but we are just so fortunate to have so many great family and friends who were supportive of our relationship. No drama. Everyone was there we loved and cherished. It was just absolutely incredible. Photographer: Alicia with Copper Antler Photography

Past, Present, & Future   //   Kara & Stacey Christenson

August 12  //  Engaged November 20, 2019  //  Green Bay

We got married in our hometown. Our sisters have been best friends since elementary school; Kara’s sister helped set us up, and she also married us! We got married in Kara’s brother’s memorial garden.

My mom was battling Alzhiemer’s and was not able to attend but my niece and nephew carried balloons (after the book Remember Balloons) to honor her. My mom passed this September. I also almost lost my dad in May. We were not sure he would be able to walk me down the aisle. It was a gift that he recovered enough to walk me down on crutches!

Kara’s three amazing children stood up in the wedding and we made our couple’s dance at the reception and also did a dance with the kids. Our vows we found at a craft fair on a framed picture. We knew when we read them and both got tears in our eyes that those would be the vows we would share with one another. We had our rings made at Chalmers Jewelers. We wanted matching rings and our rings have three intertwined strands that represent our three children and the past, present, and future of our lives together. August 20  //  Engaged April 21, 2018  //  Green Bay

Most of our wedding for June 2020 was planned before the pandemic hit. So, we had a small ceremony on June 7 with our immediate family. We spent the rest of that summer in our marriage bubble with our dogs, which really helped our mental health. After many date changes, we finally had our large celebration this past August.

We can now laugh at the fact that my train got run over right before the ceremony and had a large black tire mark across it. Overall, our day was perfect, and we spent it laughing and dancing surrounded by loved ones and our dogs. Photographer: Ally Corinne Photography

Love Rain   //   Valeria GuzmanLuna & Rae Sowards

August 27  //  Engaged June 17, 2022  //  Yahara Place Park, Madison

We were married by the lake at Yahara Place Park. It was 2:30 in the afternoon in late summer, and a downpour took place right before the wedding was to start. We decided not to wait and took the rain as a blessing from the Universe. With only a small handful of close friends, and the rain as our witness, we took our vows.
