Everyone Else Disappears // Ryan & Shaun LeCloux
August 27 // Engaged October 15, 2020 // Madison Club, Madison
There is nothing that can prepare you for the flow of sudden emotions when you lock eyes on one another for the first time during the ceremony. Time slows down as you walk down the aisle and everyone disappears except for one person, your person. That rush of pure love, pure joy, fills your heart and tears fill your eyes. Then moments later, you realize you are in a room full of people who support you as a couple and you can just feel all the warmth from their love. It is one of the most magical feelings in the world. Best Laid Plans // Cori & Joy Link
August 27 // Engaged October 16, 2021 // High Cliff State Park, Sherwood
We thought we had everything planned and organized, since our venue was several hours from where we lived. However, there were plenty of last minute obstacles, like Cori’s suit not being ready when it was supposed to be, which delayed our travel plans, forcing us to rearrange our plans for set-up at the venue. Luckily our family jumped in, without hesitation, and helped make sure everything came together perfectly.
One major reason we picked High Cliff State Park was the beautiful outdoor space. The day of, it rained all afternoon, rearranging the plans once again. We had a back-up ceremony option though, and it still went very well. We embraced the rain and clouds, and still got a lot of amazing outdoor photos. We laughed about it all, though, and made beautiful memories. Photographer: Elizabeth at Birchwood Studio
Good Fortune // Ace & Scarlett Rodgers-Smith
August 28 // Engaged March 15, 2020 // Mitchell Park Domes, Milwaukee
We both wanted an indoor wedding to avoid any weather, so we chose the Domes as a good in-between. The day of our wedding, it stormed for a short time, but it was during our ceremony.
The rain made its way indoors during the ceremony and leaked through the ceiling. We had a plant that we used for a unity ceremony, and while rain didn’t get on our guests, rain was pouring onto our plant throughout the ceremony. Then, afterwards, there was a double rainbow. Everyone has heard the saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck, but we felt like the universe really showered us with good fortune! Photographer: GM.Creative (Glenda Mitchell)
Serious & Silly // Katie & Mason Rider
September 3 // Engaged January 23, 2022 // Wisconsin State Capitol, Madison
Our wedding day was beautiful and filled with love. We had a cozy ceremony surrounded by our closest family and friends. Our best friend, Brooke, was the officiant, and we asked her to channel Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek. She did not disappoint! Our niece gave a speech that had us in tears and fits of laughter. Our nephew was the cutest ring bearer. We both wrote our own vows that were both serious and silly.
We held our reception at the Great Dane in Fitchburg. All of our friends and family were invited, and we partied the night away. We wish time could have stopped so we could be in that moment forever. When the reception ended, we went down the street to Club 5 in our wedding attire and danced until the doors closed for the night. It was magical. Photographer: Melanie Renee Photography
