Perfect Harmony Chorus presents “Shining in Silver,” their 25th anniversary concert

by | Nov 29, 2022 | 0 comments

As a celebration of two-and-a-half decades of continued musical excellence, Perfect Harmony Chorus is proud to present its 25th anniversary concert, “Shining in Silver.” In a weekend of reflection and jubilation, Madison’s premiere LGBTQ+ chorus will draw upon the memories of performances past to explore its humble beginnings, the challenges and joys of growth, and its hope for what the future may hold.

Calling back to Perfect Harmony’s first ever performance in 1997, the concert will open with “Zion’s Walls” before continuing through the years with favorites like “Winter Solstice Moon” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Past artistic directors will return to conduct select pieces like “Rhythm of Life” and “The Tree of Peace,” as well as “Never Ever”, the poignant closing number from the 2014 performance of the Naked Man suite. Audiences can expect laughs and holiday cheer with seasonal favorites like “Silver Bears” and “Light a Candle,” and they will hear the premiere of a new piece, “We Sing!” by PHC alum Arthur Durkee, which reimagines the lyrics and message of the chorus’s signature song “Sing a Rainbow.” In addition, Our Voice Milwaukee, Perfect Harmony’s sister chorus, will make a special guest performance.
