Art Unveiling from the Wisconsin Executive Residence

February 24, 2021 @ 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

For the first time in state history, the Rainbow Pride Flag was flown over the Wisconsin State Capitol in 2019 by the Governor’s Proclamation and Executive Order #29. Watercolor artist Julia Taylor created an original painting to honor and commemorate the Order and its historic significance. The painting will be revealed and become part of the permanent art collection of the Wisconsin Executive Residence Foundation, and proudly exhibited within the Residence.

Like the Governor’s Executive Order, the painting reminds us that Wisconsin is a welcoming and inclusive place where everyone, particularly members of the LGBTQ community, must be treated with respect and dignity, and experience full equality in their lives.

Please join us for this special event including remarks by LGBTQ leaders from across Wisconsin on Wednesday, February 24 at 4:30 p.m.
