Sherie is a passionate community activist, believer in inclusion, and an advocate for LGBTQIA+ youth. Sherie has been a leader in the Madison Metropolitan School District for the last 17 years; 10 years as a school-based Social Worker and the last 7 as the LGBTQIA+ Lead. In this role, she has the important role of advocating for policies that uplift LGBTQIA+ people, providing professional development focused on the inclusion of diverse LGBTQIA+ identities, building meaningful community partnerships, advancing youth leadership, and protecting the rights of LGBTQIA+ students and their families. When she isn’t fighting for social justice, she enjoys spending her time backpacking through Latin America, playing volleyball, and frolicking around with her bulldogs.
