The Madison LGBTQI Meditation Group aspires to be a welcoming and inclusive space for all meditation practitioners and aspiring meditators (including beginners) who self-identify as LGBTQI. Members of the group represent students from various Buddhist and non-Buddhist traditions that come together bimonthly to create a refuge of mutual respect and understanding. Currently, this group chooses to be designated as LGBTQI-only for the purposes of cultivating a sincere circle of belonging that feels safe to its members, where they may intimately explore themes of spirituality, mindfulness, and Buddhist teachings in the context of multiple and intersecting lines of difference that include, but are not limited to: sexuality, gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic class, age, and dis/abilities.
This event is freely offered. Optional donation of $1-$5 to cover meeting space is welcome but absolutely not required to attend!
Meeting location: Hicks room in the Goodman Community Center
All of our meditation meetups are substance-free events.
