“The Girl Who ‘Married’ a Girl” – Washington Post, May 10, 1914
“‘Girl-Man’ Taken Into Custody in the Cream City,” Racine Journal News, March 31, 1915
The story made for sensational headlines in the 1910’s: how could “pretty Cora Anderson” ‘deceive’ the world and live amongst the public as Ralph Kerwineo? The extraordinary tale sold a lot of papers, but Ralph’s lived experience as a man of color was buried in the wave of publicity. His story goes largely untold to this day. Beginning October 7, Emerald Condor Productions brings the true story of Ralph Kerwineo to the stage for the first time.
World Premiere: Friday, October 7th, 7:30, at Inspiration Studios.
Show dates:
October 7th – 9th
Monday, October 10th – Industry Night, 7:30
October 14th – 16th
October 21st – 23rd
All Friday and Saturday night performances are at 7:30; all Sunday performances are 2:30 matinees.
Tickets are $20 plus a small processing fee for all performances. There are $17 ‘early-bird’ tickets through September 18th. Ticket prices are reduced for the Monday the 17th industry night performance.
