Edgewood College is honored to host Richard Blanco, an internationally recognized poet and storyteller, as the 2016 Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow. Mr. Blanco will be on campus from February 22-25, 2016.

President Barack Obama selected Mr. Blanco in 2012 to serve as the fifth inaugural poet in U.S. history, joining the ranks of such important poets as Robert Frost and Maya Angelou. Mr. Blanco’s visit provides unique classroom opportunities for students, as well as events open to Greater Madison.

On Thursday Feb. 25, Mr. Blanco presents a Poetry Reading, examining cultural identity and the essence of place and belonging. The public is invited to the event, which begins at 6:30 pm in the Washburn Heritage Room at Edgewood College.
