Facility & Event Coordinator

This position is responsible for running the museum’s facility rental program. The coordinator, in
coordination with the Marketing and Visitor Services departments, plans and manages the
program—strategy through day-of execution—to ensure that events run smoothly and to meet
revenue goals. This includes advertising & promotion, tours, client services, creating and managing
contracts, and assisting with billing and record-keeping. The coordinator serves as lead to event
staffing as needed (most events at the beginning of employment, fewer over time). The coordinator manages relationships and services with key vendors and serves as a resource for other
departments in planning their events. In addition, the coordinator plans and supervises events for
MCM’s popular Adult Swim program, bimonthly public parties for 21+. In general, the coordinator
facilitates events that happen after hours, for primarily adult audiences.
The ideal candidate will enjoy helping people create meaningful celebrations in a creative
environment, believes in the importance of play, excels in a collaborative environment, and is a
strong self-starter.
