Schedule: Monday – Friday with varied start times depending on deliveries.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Responsibilities include receiving, storage and inventory of all departmental supplies, maintaining sanitation in storage areas and requisitioning items and transporting to all areas of the department.
2. Inventories and maintains necessary food and other supplies to ensure an efficient operation of the dining department.
3. Stores food and supplies in correct containers and in proper storage areas according to department guidelines as indicates by non-spoilage of food.
4. Maintains records and logs documenting storage temperatures of perishable food items on a daily basis.
5. Dates, labels, and rotates stock according to procedures as indicated by oldest product being utilized first.
6. Orders food and supplies based upon product specification as established by the Oakwood ordering protocols and procedures.
7. Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals, supplies, and equipment to safeguard employees.
8. Transports food and supplies in appropriate containers as indicated by food or supplies arriving safely and intact.
9. Follows HACCP guidelines when receiving and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
10. Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
11. Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment in all areas.
12. Reports needed maintenance or repairs of equipment used.
13. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in the corporate policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.
14. Identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers and per MDS sheets.
15. Utilizes equipment in performing job functions according to department safety procedures.
16. Follow facility, department, and Oakwood safety policies and procedures to include incident reporting.
17. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
1. Some knowledge of quantity of food production.
2. Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff members.
4. Ability to work within established policies and procedures.
5. Ability to provide leadership that fosters a team approach in meeting the mission of Oakwood.
6. Must be willing to accept weekend/holiday work schedule and occasional overtime.
Experience, Skills and/or Training
1. High school education or equivalency preferred.
2. ServSafe certified or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
