Theater goers: Are you tired of today’s limitations of casting? Are you incensed that a middle-aged woman is never chosen to portray Hamlet or that no voice-cracking teenager ever gets to play the wise old sage? Are you threatened by the success and talent of child actors and wish their roles could be filled by well-meaning adults in short pants? Krass feels your frustration! They’ve taken the good sense and rationality out of casting and filled their show’s roster with nothing but enthusiastic actors living their dreams of playing roles for which they would never normally be considered!
What do directors know, anyway? The Kathie Rasmussen Women’s Theater (Krass) presents the sixth installment of its annual fundraiser “Wrong for the Part” featuring a variety
of local talent—all of whom are mismatched to their roles—appearing in a selection of short scenes, monologues, poems, stories, and even a dance. Join them for an evening of deliciously offbeat entertainment! All proceeds will go toward the production of Krass’s 2017-2018 season.
Note that Krass usually pays its performers, designers, and crew a small stipend but for Wrong for the Part 2017, everyone is a volunteer to support this fundraiser.
