All-Volunteer, Donation-fueled Santas Without Chimneys program returns for 5th year

Santas Without Chimneys partners with community and business groups to deliver holiday cheer once more to Madison’s homeless and highly mobile children and families; aims to serve hundreds of children and families.

Santas Without Chimneys (SWC) is welcoming volunteers and donations to help with its goal of providing holiday warmth to homeless children in Madison, Wisconsin. SWC is in its fifth year of operation and remains dedicated to bringing cheer to homeless families in the area.  As part of that effort, the group is hosting their annual Kick-Off Party on Tuesday, November 29th at 6pm in their new location for 2016: 6501 Watts Road in West Madison.

SWC is an independent, all-volunteer, ask-based, crowd-sourced, non-faith-based holiday donation drive for homeless children in the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD). SWC collects wish lists from children so that volunteers can customize gifts to match each child’s wishes. That way a child will receive a package of gifts created just for them. With the assistance of MMSD’s Transitional Education Program (TEP) and district social workers, SWC seeks to bring even more cheer and giving than in previous years.

For volunteer information please refer to the SWC website: http://www.santaswithoutchimneys.org/ and fill out the form under the volunteer tab. There are a wide range of tasks available, everything from collecting and wrapping presents to driving sleighs out on delivery!

Likewise, businesses that wish to have a dropbox in their building or host a toy drive for their employees and customers should see the Drop-Box tab on the website and contact: [email protected].
