This free event is open to the public, but registration is requested. Activities include: boathouse tours, instruction in rowing technique basics, and, conditions permitting, lake excursions in an 8-person rowing shell. (Children must be at least 12 to go out in a shell.)
Bernard’s Boathouse is located at 622 E. Gorham St., on the Lake Mendota waterfront, on the east end of James Madison Park. The green-trimmed white boathouse is a pleasant walk from Capitol Square, home of the Dane County Farmer’s Market and the Children’s Museum.
Mendota Rowing Club also offers Learn to Row classes in the spring and summer. For more information, see our website at mendotarowingclub.com. Registration is available at mendotarowingclub.com/Learn-to-Row-Day.
Mendota Rowing Club is a non-profit organization devoted to providing opportunity to rowers of all abilities in the greater Madison community. A USRowing member organization, it is one of only two organizations in southern Wisconsin that offer rowing instruction to the general public. This event is sponsored by USRowing, and Concept2, a manufacturer of oars and indoor rowing equipment.
