Creating home in our bodies: gender contentment via mindfulness and movement

February 19, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$75 – $250

|| This event: Has LGBTQ content, Is LGBTQ hosted ||

As trans and NB/GNC people, we may experience our bodies as a place of conflict, dysphoria or unease. Do you wonder how to attend to and change that?

Join us for a day long retreat where we will introduce you to embodied mindfulness, self-compassion, and attending to pleasure. Practicing these can lead us to acceptance of ourselves, making rootedness and pleasure an ordinary experience in our daily lives. We will nourish gender contentment by supporting the movement of our baselines from dysphoria and discomfort towards gender euphoria.

This retreat is co-taught by Sasha Lasdon and Max Pearl.

Sasha Lasdon works as a somatic sex educator and dancer based in HoChunk land called DeJope/Madison, WI. They have worked with movement, sexuality, gender, bodywork and consent education for over 20 years. They are certified as a STREAM practitioner and are a facilitator in training with the School of Consent. They have taught and danced all over the world in contact improvisation, aerial/circus and integrated dance companies and spaces.

Max Pearl has a Ph.D in Neuroscience from Case Western Reserve University, and a Certificate of Theological Studies from Pacific School of Religion, in Berkeley. Max was an HIV/AIDS educator and advocate from 1985-1995. He has been practicing Buddhist meditation since 1990. Max has studied various embodiment modalities including Authentic Movement and Tantra, and has been teaching contemplative practices since 2005.
