A largely autobiographical play by Larry Kramer
This explosive and heartfelt drama depicts the rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in NYC (in the 80’s) through the eyes of writer Ned Weeks, who loses his partner and multiple friends to a new virus that is only know as “the gay plague”. The story follows Ned’s fight to build a base of activists to bring public awareness to this epidemic, and force action from the media, medical field, and government – who up until then have turned a blind eye.
