Weaving Trans Legacies
April 12 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
FreeThis event: Has LGBTQ content, May be of interest to the LGBTQ community || This talk is part of the public programming for Flores Nocturnas (Blooming at Night), a solo exhibition at Foster Gallery by Mexico-city based, multimedia artist Sofia Moreno, which includes works that envision fantastical scenes centering brown trans femme pleasure, kinship, and futurity. During the talk, Moreno and Dr. Eva Pensis, a postdoctoral fellow for the Trans Oral History Project at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss how their trancestors’ and trans elders’ legacies enable their work, which in turn weaves new legacies to support the blooming of trans femme communities.
