Summary: Serving Dane County since 1973, the RCC Sexual Violence Resource Center (formerly the Rape Crisis Center) is a non-profit organization that provides services to survivors (and their support people) of all forms of sexual violence, including recent sexual assault, past sexual assault, incest (past or present), sexual harassment, and sexual exploitation. As with all RCC employees, the DD must be committed to providing services with and to a variety of cultures with cultural awareness, sensitivity and humility.

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Madison, WI

Hours: 40 hour work week; flexible schedule required with some evenings and weekends for events and meetings.

Compensation: $65,000 – 85,000 per year depending on experience

Employee Status: Regular full-time employee (40 hours per week), eligible for benefit package (90% employer-paid healthcare and dental; 26 days of PTO per year; 12 holidays per year; 401(k) plan with employer match; short-term disability and life insurance).

Position Overview: The Development Director will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive fundraising program to further the mission of RCC, including major gifts, corporate giving, foundation giving, planned giving, donor appeals and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and manage realistic yet ambitious comprehensive fund development plans in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Executive Director

Establish good rapport and relationships with donors to increase donor retention and individual giving

Promote positive working relationships with staff and community

Engage development committee and board in supporting fundraising initiatives

Communicate fundraising goals with staff and board and equip team to reach them

Work with the Executive Director to ensure development activities are aligned with RCC’s overall strategic plan

Maintain an active portfolio of donors and prospective donors for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship

Provide strategies for developing major donors and ensure timely steps are taken to cultivate relationships with donors at all levels

Ensure financial data in donor and accounting systems is accurate, aligned, tracked, and reported

Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance, adjust strategies, track donor engagement, increase donor retention, analyze revenue streams, and make decisions that help the organization achieve its fundraising goals

Provide transparent monthly reports to Board and Executive Director regarding progress toward fundraising goals

Seek, develop, and sustain funding partnerships with community organizations

Requirements

Strong commitment to the mission of RCC

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

Demonstrated results in setting fundraising strategies

Minimum of 3-5 Years of experience in nonprofit fundraising

Strong ability to mentor and inspire staff and volunteers in development process

Ability to actively engage in donor stewardship, retention, acquisition and planned giving

Ability to actively engage board members in the development process

Strong ability to work collaboratively in a results-oriented environment

Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills

Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills, both written and verbal

Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively

Experience managing fundraising software and donor databases

Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
