Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS)Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for an Office Coordinator. CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the north side of Madison.

This position will typically work Monday-Friday with daytime hours. We offer a team-oriented atmosphere and a focus on work-life balance.

Position Summary

As the Office Coordinator, you will perform varied Food Service Department tasks critical to the operation of CWC’s Food Service. You will serve as the support person for the Food Service Department, will be responsible for purchasing supplies and small equipment, as well as perform timekeeping duties for the department.

Salary Information

The starting pay is $20.02 per hour for hires after June 30, 2024, plus excellent benefits. This is a minimum increase for all Office Operations Associate positions. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an Office Operations Associate and is in pay schedule and range 02/10.

Job Details

All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

  • Experience entering information into a database or spreadsheet or verifying data in a computer program.
  • Experience providing customer service (e.g., providing instructions, answering questions, resolving customer complaints/conflict, etc.) in a professional or business setting.
  • Experience conducting basic finance activities such as money management (e.g., receiving, recording, and/or withdrawing money), performing money calculations, or reconciling receipts in a business setting.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience working in a food service environment or large production food service operations.
  • Experience providing timekeeping or payroll support using software such as Atlas or STAR, to audit timesheets for accuracy, maintain attendance or FMLA trackers, calculate sick or vacation time, etc.
  • Experience in an administrative or office assistant role.
