UW-Madison University Theatre presents An Evening with Poe, a night of original performances based on Edgar Allan Poe stories and poetry, devised by and featuring senior undergraduates and Master of Fine Arts acting and directing students. An Evening with Poe is the culmination of a semester-long collaboration of advanced students in the Department of Theatre and Drama, offering the macabre thrills of Poe’s classic works in a variety of inventive styles and interpretations. MFA students and senior acting students explore the rich mystery of Edgar Allan Poe in this unique event. Bringing to life a selection of works from this great American writer best known for The Raven and The Pit and the Pendulum, this evening will chill you to the bone and leave you in suspense!

Performers and designers are drawn from advanced directing and acting courses at UWMadison,as well as collaborative design courses on scenic design, costumes and lighting. An Evening with Poe opens Wednesday, December 4th and runs through Sunday, December 8th. Performances will take place in the Hemsley Theatre, 821 University Avenue. Evening performances begin at 7:30 PM and matinees begin at 2PM. Individual tickets for all performances are $23 (general public) or $16 (UW students). Discounts are available for senior citizens and Friends of University Theatre.
