RE:INVENT ~ Innovation II

Madison Ballet proudly presents Innovation II, an electrifying program of world premiere works created by the company’s own artists. Taking place May 8–9 at Overture Center for the Arts’s Promenade Hall, this dynamic evening showcases the next generation of choreographic voices shaping the future of ballet.
After the initial response of Innovation I in 2024, Innovation II returns! Featuring original works by company artists Charlotte Junge, Eric Stith III, Sarah Martin, James Wainwright, Ben Rose, and Gianna DeMassio. Each offering a distinct perspective, movement language, and creative vision. This program is a bold exploration of what ballet can be today: daring, intimate, and deeply human.
“At its core, Innovation II is about artistic ownership” says Artistic Director Ja’ Malik. “These dancers are not only interpreters, they are creators. This is where new ideas are born, risks are taken, and the future of our art form comes into focus.”
Audiences can expect an evening of striking contrasts, from physically charged contemporary works to poetic, introspective ballets, brought to life by the full company in the intimate setting of Promenade Hall. The program invites viewers into the creative process, offering a rare glimpse into the voices emerging from within the studio.
Innovation II continues Madison Ballet’s commitment to cultivating choreographic talent and expanding the boundaries of classical and contemporary ballet.
