Please and Appease: Fawning and Consent; An Education Class

This event: Has LGBTQ content, Is LGBTQ hosted, May be of interest to the LGBTQ community || Fawn, like fight or flight, is a safety-seeking response humans have to stressful situations. Fawning involves a focus on people-pleasing, often to the exclusion of our own needs or feelings. In this class, we’ll take a deep dive into this particular survival response. Attendees will learn what fawning looks like, and how it can show up in kink settings, including scene negotiation, consent, and relational dynamics. We’ll also look at ways to care for ourselves when we notice this response, so that we can move from survival into grounded, empowered decision-making. || free
