
The Digital Performance Team serves as an analytics engine for Our Lives, supporting the site’s user experience, reviewing engagement, and powering the entire reader journey. This committee is designed for seasoned digital content professionals as well as those new to the industry who are looking for experience.
As individual contributors who report to the Editorial Board of Directors, Digital Performance Team members are accountable for their own deliverables, such as analytics reports, search engine results page competitive analysis, and content strategies.
Purpose
• Identify opportunities to improve user engagement on Our Lives website
• Plan team projects, execute, and monitor impact to assess success
• Remove friction in current user journey on Our Lives website
• Compile and report on relevant analytics and other KPIs for the Editorial and Business boards
• Collaborate with web development partner, Design Garden, to keep Our Lives website running cleanly and efficiently
• Brainstorm and execute ways to increase reader reach and grow newsletter subscriber base
• Conduct A/B tests in Mailchimp to boost reader engagement
Roles & Responsibilities
Team members identify opportunities to improve the digital experience for Our Lives Magazine. This includes analyzing analytics/engagement numbers, devising strategies to increase newsletter subscribers, executing A/B tests, creating user personas to help us understand our readers, and more. Team members are part of a group dedicated to leveling up the reader journey on ourliveswisconsin.org, ensuring visitors are served the best content experience possible.
Desired skills
• Strong storytelling, writing, and communication abilities
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Mailchimp, WordPress, and others (not required but strongly preferred)
• Data-driven mindset with a desire to remove friction in digital experiences
• Innovative thinking and creative ideation skills
• Professional networking and community outreach experience
• Background in data analytics, digital marketing, front-end development, software development, or related digital fields
• Ability to manage deadlines, deliverables, and multiple assignments independently
• Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• Passion for community-centered storytelling and regional engagement
Commitments
• Fully remote position with no onsite requirements
• Flexible scheduling based on project availability
• Estimated commitment: approximately 8 hours per month
• Volunteer-based role within a collaborative and supportive network
Assignment
This role reports to the Editorial Board of Directors of Our Lives Media through the Regional Director.
