FT/PT: Full time with shift beginning between 4am-8am. Must
include at least one weekend shift/week. Closed Mondays.
Pay: $17-20/hour depending on experience
Job Description/Primary Duties:
Bloom is looking for an energetic, food loving team member to join their Deli and Catering team! Our Deli & Catering team prepares and delivers amazing meals for our customers, as well as our catering orders throughout the Madison area.
If working with fresh breads, croissants and biscuits to create beautiful and crave-able sandwiches on a day to day basis is something that sounds exciting to you, then YOU just might be the right person to fill this position.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Follows all quality standards, safe food handling to ensure compliance with state, federal, and OSHA sanitation requirements
- Prepares sandwiches and follows recipes for quality control
- Uses proper knife skills to prep ingredients to ensure a consistent quality
- Maintains a clean and orderly workspace following health guidelines of labeling and food handling
- Engages warmly with customers and coworkers
- Slice and prepare locally sourced meats and cheeses for use in beautiful sandwich creations ● Prep and cook various food items used in our deli and catering department ● Builds and arranges food attractively for our customers
- Ensures cleanliness of kitchen and serving area, adhering to washing of kitchen utensils and equipment according to sanitary standards. Contributes time to dish pit daily to ensure equity in cleaning tasks
- Has awareness of speed and meeting deadlines to ensure products are prepared and available for customers at the times designated on our menu
- Comfortable delivering catering orders while providing a wonderful customer experience ● Any other duties as assigned
Competencies:
Our sandwich maker must be self-motivated, flexible, conscientious, organized, able to multitask, and have a good attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills and communication with coworkers,
management, and customers is needed. Friendly and able to work in a fast paced environment. Able to receive constructive criticism feedback on a daily basis, and willing to ask questions to achieve best results. This candidate must also be able to work at least one weekend shift on a weekly basis to contribute their skills to Bloom’s busiest days of the week!
Education and Experience:
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Kitchen experience is preferred, but we will train the right applicant!
- Legally able to work in the U.S.
- Has a valid Driver’s License with a great driving record
Physical Requirements:
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to stand on feet for entirety of shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
