This event: Has LGBTQ content, Is LGBTQ hosted, May be of interest to the LGBTQ community || On Good Friday, Christians remember a God who suffered death out of immense love for humanity. This Good Friday morning, queer- and trans-affirming Christians will gather in a solemn observance of the Stations of the Cross, an ancient Christian liturgy, to affirm Trans existence and renounce violent assault on Trans bodies and souls. Participants will gather at the Way of the Cross Garden and follow a 1.3-mile procession with stops at significant locations in downtown Madison, including the Federal Courthouse, the State Capitol, and the County Public Safety Building. At each station there will be a scripture reading, meditation, and reflection. The procession will last approximately 90 minutes and will return to the Way of the Cross Garden at its conclusion.
This event is organized by Stone Catchers Madison, a queer- and trans-led group of progressive Christians dedicated to interrupting spiritual and political violence against marginalized peoples. All are welcome. || Free
