Job Description/Primary Duties:
Are you an early bird? Do you love baking and creating? Are you an independent soul with great time management, excited to challenge yourself to meet or exceed standards of efficiency? Are you interested in being part of a genuine team of kind, passionate bread and pastry artisans? Does creating French pastries and bread before the sunrises get you excited? The ideal candidate can commit to at least 12 months. All bakes need consistency and attention to detail.
Essential Responsibilities:
● Follows all quality standards, safe food handling to ensure compliance with state, federal, and
OSHA sanitation requirements
● Scales, mixes and bakes desserts following recipes for quality control
● Uses proper bread shaping, dough creaming, batter making techniques to ensure a consistent
quality of product
● Maintains clean displays in proper order and assists with restocking
● Engages warmly with customers and coworkers
● Has items out of the oven and cooling in a timely manner to facilitate execution of daily
wholesale orders, online pre-orders, and catering orders.
● Develops great knowledge of the oven workings and understands how to maneuver efficiently
through a daily baking production schedule.
● Ensures cleanliness of kitchen and serving area, adhering to washing and sanitizing of kitchen
utensils and equipment according to sanitary standards. Contributes time to the dish pit
ensuring equity in cleaning tasks
● Any other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
Our early morning bread and pastry baker must be self-motivated, flexible, conscientious, organized, able to multitask, and have a good attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills and communication with coworkers, management, and customers is needed. This person should hold themselves to a high standard of excellence and be motivated to regularly replicate excellent products. Friendly and able to work in a fast paced environment. Able to receive constructive criticism feedback on a daily basis, and proactive to ask questions to achieve best results. General interest in baking is a plus.
Education and Experience:
● 18 years of age
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Culinary training or kitchen experience is preferred, but not required. Hardworking, honest, and
ready to learn? We will train you!
● Legally able to work in the U.S.
Physical Requirements:
● Regular and predictable attendance
● Ability to stand on feet for entirety of shift
● Ability to lift 50 pounds
