by | Jan 12, 2016 | 0 comments

Madison, WI, March 3rd, 2016. Project Kinect is happy to announce the 2016 Social Change Forum to be held at Threshold (2717 Atwood Ave) from 8:30am- 5pm with a happy hour to follow at Next Door Brewing Company. The theme this year is Finding Courage: Being an Agent of Change in Uncomfortable Circumstances.

Courage is essential to be an effective and impactful change agent. The forum will allow us to explore the relationship between courage and social change, how we access courage, and how we find it when we need it. Our intention is that we all walk away from this year’s forum more comfortable in uncomfortable space and able to access the courage necessary when we need it to have those scary conversations, problem solve those uneasy circumstances, and lead those who are still seeking courage. Our forum will not find all the answers, but together we can utilize the skills and talents from our brilliant communities to gain tools and best practices that access that courage we often need.

The speakers we have include: Neena Viel from College Access Now, Sina Davis from Mothers in the Neighborhood, and Jenna Rhodes University of Arkansas – Medical Services. Facilitators leading exciting and challenging workshops include: Sara Alvarado from Step Up: Equity Matters and Garrett Lee for OM Tiny Homes.

The cost of this event is $150 for general registration, $100 for educators, non- profit employees and others who are unable to afford general registration. If you are looking for a scholarship, please email [email protected]. More information about speakers, sponsorship, and other details for this year’s forum can be found at http://www.projectkinect.com/social-change-forum-2016/.
