Madison, WI – Giant Jones Brewing is hosting a Transgender Day of Visibility Celebration on March 29 and 30, 2024. The multi-day celebration is presented with financial support from OPEN Foundation, the Out Professional Engagement Network.

The celebration kicks off Friday with an art opening from 5-9 p.m. featuring Artist Rae Senarighi, aka Transpainter, who will debut two pieces from his upcoming show, Luminous. Award-winning local band, Kat and the Hurricane will perform an acoustic music set and share stories beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The celebration continues Saturday with a pop-up market from 4-8 p.m. in collaboration with The Big Gay Market and featuring A Room of One’s Own bookshop, Luma Hollow, Sturgeon Designs, Red Clover Tattoo Collective, Mel’s Crafty Critters, Rae Senarighi, and cookies from Girl Scout Troop #8187. Resources will also be available from Trans Medical Mutual Aid. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Trans Day of Visibility Pop-up Market will be MASKS REQUIRED. Masks will be required to enter and shop during this time; while we will provide disposable masks at the door, please bring your own to cut down on waste.

“As a trans and women-owned and operated brewery, it’s important to us to be visible in the community, and to celebrate other trans folks doing great things,” says Giant Jones Brewer and Co-Owner, Jessica Jones. “Being an out, trans person, and visible because of our business, means that we have the opportunity to highlight valuable roles trans people play in the community.”

International Transgender Day of Visibility is Sunday March 31 and “celebrates the joy and resilience of trans and nonbinary people everywhere by elevating voices and experiences from these communities,” according to the Human Rights Campaign.
