“BADGER BASH” KICKS OFF ITS 42nd   SEASON

AT  UNION SOUTH

2 ½ hours Before Every Home Football Game

1st Badger Bash of 2014:

Saturday, September 6

Wisconsin Badgers vs W. Illinois Leathernecks

8:30 am

 

Badger Bash—the longest running public tailgating party at UW-Madison—celebrates its 42nd year hosting Mike Leckrone the entire UW Marching Band and throngs of rabid Badger football fans at Union South in 2014!

The “jumbotron” giant TV outdoor will return to the Plaza — adding to the gameday atmosphere before, during and after the Badger game. So, no ticket, no problem; it’s almost as good as being inside Camp Randall!

The season’s initial Badger Bash begins at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 6, to help fans prepare for the first home UW game vs. Western Illinois that kicks off at 11 am.

Located just steps away from Camp Randall Stadium at the corner of Dayton and Randall Streets, Union South offers a full Badger gameday experience.

Each Badger Bash offers special events and activities including free live music featuring Northern Hooks.  The first Bash celebrates UW Marching Band Day which will include announcing the induction of three distinguished alumni into the UW Marching Band Hall of Fame.

Join fellow Badgers at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 6 at Badger Bash before the UW-Western Illinois game, presented by Pepsi Max, along with media sponsors WKOW TV Ch. 27, WOKY AM (the Big 920, Milwaukee), WRIT FM (Oldies 95.7, Milwaukee) and the Big 1070 sports radio, which will broadcast live from Badger Bash before and after the game.

Hosted prior to each home football game, fans can enjoy performances by Mike Leckrone and the entire UW Marching Band, food hot off the grill, icy cold beverages, Babcock ice cream, Bucky Badger and more activities including:

 

On The Plaza:  Home of the UW Marching Band!

  • A “jumbotron” TV to catch all the pre-game and early game action, the Badger game, then the post-game and late games
  • Plenty of food options
  • Badger merchandise on sale

 

The Orchard:  Family friendly fun!

  • Live music with Northern Hooks before the UW Band plays
  • Face and hair painting, inflatables and lots of activities for kids!
  • Food kiosks, featuring brats and other options

 

The Sett:  Catch all the action on our 18’ HDTV! 

  • Before, during and after the Badger game! No ticket needed to feel part of the gameday experience!  The weather’s always fine inside The Sett.
  • Great food options!
  • Bowlingbilliards and air hockey in the low level along with beverages, pizza and other snacks.

 

6th Quarter: After the game, stop back at Union South!

  • Great food, and a great venue for celebrating and
  • Catching the late games and highlights on giant TVs inside and out.
