Forward Theater and CUNA Mutual to host School Violence Symposium

Forward Theater Company is proud to announce its partnership with community leaders for a free symposium on the issues raised by FTC’s production ofFrom Up Here by Liz Flahive. This darkly funny and moving play touches on issues of school violence, bullying and mental health, and the impacts these issues have on individuals, families and communities. The event takes place on Friday, Nov. 14th, and is generously sponsored by the CUNA Mutual Foundation.

Panelists for the event include: Jeanette Deloya (Coordinator of Mental Health Services, Madison Metropolitan School District), Jennifer Uphoff Gray (Artistic Director, Forward Theater Company), Michael Johnson (CEO, Boys and Girls Club of Dane County), Rebecca Lindsey (Safety Education Officer, Madison Police Department), and Dr. Kenneth Robbins (Professor of Psychiatry at UW-Madison).

Content
The symposium will include actors performing a brief scene from the play, followed by the panelists’ sharing of their experiences dealing with related issues in the Madison area. There will be time allotted for questions and comments from the audience. Prior to the event, and following it, food and beverages will be provided by CUNA Mutual Group.
