Madison Minotaurs Rugby Club invite you to a private screening of the new documentary film The Rugby Player, playing Friday, June 6 (one-night only) at the Bartell Theatre, 113 E Mifflin Street in Madison. This brand new award-winning movie tells the story of Mark Bingham, one of the 9/11 heroes who helped take back Flight 93 from the terrorists. Mark was a rugby player and gay. The tournament he helped start has since grown to the International Gay Rugby Cup and involves over 30 gay rugby teams from all over the world. The tournament is now called The Bingham Cup in his honor. This film tells his life story, but especially focuses on his mother post-9/11 with her efforts in keeping his memory alive and growing the sport he so loved. The Rugby Player is an inspiring story of love, acceptance, and heroism.  The film recently screened at the Wisconsin Film Festival to great acclaim.

The movie is 90 minutes long and seating is very limited. Tickets are $13 and will benefit the Madison Minotaurs Rugby Club and GSAFE. Showtime is 8pm with the lobby open at 7pm for beer/wine/soda meet-and-greet with the team. It is strongly recommended that tickets be purchased in advance at the Bartell Theatre or online: Home | Bartell Theatre.  Direct link for tickets: The Rugby Player.  For more information on the film, including the trailer, go to http://www.therugbyplayerfilm.com

The Rugby Player is presented by the New Harvest Foundation.
