ORGULLO LATINX LGBT+ OF DANE COUNTY Presents the LGBT+ Community Hero Scholarships
Through these scholarships, Orgullo Latinx LGBT+ of Dane County recognizes the outstanding work of community members who have dedicated hours in support of the LGBT+ Latinx Dane community.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THESE SCHOLARSHIPS
Number of scholarships: Two
Scholarships amount: $1,000 each
Scholarship categories:
Youth (Middle School or High School Students)
Adults (19+ years old)
Scholarship deadline: June 26, 2017
Funds Restrictions: None
Who can apply? LGBT+ members and allies are encouraged to apply.

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants MUST fully complete a scholarship application (incomplete applications will not be accepted).
Applicants MUST demonstrate that they have worked in support of the LGBT+ Latinx community for at least 120 hours.
Applicants applying for the Youth category MUST submit evidence of attending Middle School or High School.
Applicants MUST include one letter of recommendation from a classroom teacher, employer, volunteer program coordinator or other community member who can speak of their leadership and involvement with the LGBT+ Latinx community.
Upon receiving the LGBT+ Community Hero Scholarship, recipients will be required to volunteer with Orgullo Latinx LGBT+ of Dane County for 40 hours.

SELECTION:
The scholarship committee will select a total of six finalists (three per each category) The whole community will be able to select the scholarship winners by voting through the Orgullo Latinx LGBT+ of Dane County’s Facebook page.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Scholarships will be awarded as follows:
Adult category on August 12th during Orgullo Latinx LGBT+ of Dane County first ever show/fundraising event (More details on this later)
Youth category on August 20th during the Outreach LGBT Annual Parade (More details on this later)
