Democratic candidate Dylan Helmenstine has announced that his campaign has collected more than 2,700 nomination signatures, surpassing the threshold required to secure a place on the ballot for Wisconsin State Treasurer ahead of the June 1 filing deadline.

According to the campaign, the signatures were gathered with the support of more than 100 volunteers who canvassed neighborhoods, spoke with voters, and collected signatures in communities across Wisconsin. Campaign officials say the early completion of the signature drive reflects growing support for Helmenstine’s candidacy and his message of government accountability and transparency.

“Our campaign reflects how I will serve as State Treasurer,” Helmenstine said in a statement. “We are focused on making systems more accessible, accountable, and transparent. Our work to gather signatures was no different, and I’m proud our plan brought so many people into the process. This is an exciting step forward for us, and I’m grateful to the volunteers and supporters across the state who made it possible.”

Under Wisconsin election law, candidates for statewide office must submit a required number of valid nomination signatures to qualify for the ballot. Helmenstine’s campaign says collecting more than 2,700 signatures provides a substantial cushion above the minimum requirement while demonstrating the reach of its volunteer network.

Campaign staff described the effort as more than a procedural step toward ballot access, arguing that the signature drive served as an early indicator of voter engagement with the campaign’s platform. Helmenstine has centered his campaign on modernizing government financial systems and increasing transparency in state operations.

Helmenstine currently serves on both the Wisconsin Heights School Board and the Black Earth Village Board. His public service experience also includes appointments to several statewide boards. Prior to launching his campaign, he worked as a financial analyst for Wisconsin Medicaid programs and served in frontline response roles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The State Treasurer’s office oversees several state financial functions, including management of Wisconsin’s Unclaimed Property Program. The office has also become a platform for broader discussions about government transparency, fiscal oversight, and public accountability.
