Call for Literary and Visual Artists for the Art En Route Project

by | Mar 13, 2017 | 0 comments

Art En Route connects the literary with the visual. Here in Madison, WI Art En Route bridges an underexplored platform for creative expression between the junction of public transportation and public works of art.

This project will pair visual and literary artists to together, create uniquely commissioned works of art. The final, collaborative works will be photographed and printed on the exterior bus wraps of Madison Metro Transit busses. We project that this intersection of public art and public transportation will increase the day to day interactive artistic occurrence for the Dane County community.

This call is open to all writers and visual artists from the greater Dane County, WI area. Selected artists and creative writers will be paired and together will create a collaborative work. 8 literary artists and 8 visual artists will be selected. Applicants will be notified of their selection status via email on Monday, April 16th 2017.

This is a juried opportunity. WUD Art and representatives from the Madison art community will be responsible for selecting the artists and writers to participate after thorough consideration of each application submitted. This panel will also head the pairing of writers with visual artists.

Please send any questions regarding submissions to [email protected]

Art En Route will offer each visual and literary artist a $200 honorarium at the conclusion of this project for their participation.
