The Greatest Fact  //   David Heuer & Ted Ketterhagen

November 11  //  Engaged July 5, 2020  //  Madison

We love that we embraced Madison. We were married in the Capitol, and our reception was across the street with a great view. We were surrounded with so much love from family and friends. We wish we could relive the day. There were so many people we would’ve liked to spend more time with at the reception, and we wish we could have expanded the invitations to others we wish had been there. Our photographer was a delight. We are extremely pleased with the bakery and florist as well. All other details aside, the greatest fact is that we are now married to the person we love. Challenge Accepted  //   Ross Beattie & Jonathan Foht

November 18  //  Engaged November 27, 2021  //  The Lageret, Stoughton

I am from Milwaukee, and Jonathan is from Galena, IL. We chose the Madison area because it was just about the halfway spot between both our hometowns. For me, planning a large wedding was something that did not interest me. But for Jonathan, it was something he was super-excited to do and something he had dreamt about his whole life.

Looking back, I am so glad we did it. You really don’t have many opportunities to be surrounded by all of your loved ones in a single space and feel celebrated. One thing we heard from several of our friends was “expect to be behind” or “expect for something to go wrong.” And for us, it was a “challenge accepted” type moment because our homosexual audacity is that we know how to plan a party! Our planning and help from our wedding party/friends/family truly came together (we were ahead of schedule the whole time, LOL).

A fun aspect of our ceremony included a “mimosa toast.” On our first date, we had a mimosa brunch followed by a wine tasting at a local winery. Photographer: Twig & Olive
