by | Apr 7, 2014 | 0 comments

The Safe Schools, Safe Communities Conference is just one week away – next Friday, April 11 at UW- Parkside. We are partnering with Diverse and Resilient to organize this one-day conference to address the safety and educational needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth in schools and in the community.  Monday, April 7th is the last day to register.

We’re excited to present our keynote speaker, Caitlin Ryan of the Family Acceptance Project. She will share her expertise on how to build resilience and enhance protective factors for youth at risk. Her talk will be particularly meaningful for families, schools, and faith leaders.

Workshops will include: LGBT Young Adult Literature; Non-Discrimination Policies; Activism with Flair – Proud Theater; Protections for LGBT Adults and Allies in Schools; Positive Intervention and Behavioral Supports; Bisexual and Pansexual Inclusion; and School Experience of Trans* and Gender Non-Conforming Youth.
